Move Up to 70 Passengers on One Clear Plan
When the whole group needs to reach the same place at the same time, a 70-seater can put the journey under one set of arrangements. Tell us the headcount, route, timings and luggage, and we'll prepare a quote for a coach with a driver.

70 Seater Coach Hire With a Driver
Seventy people create a different transport job from thirty or fifty. There are more names to check, more bags to load and more chance that one late person delays everyone else. The vehicle matters, of course, but the movement plan matters just as much.

Our 70-seater coach hire can take a private party of as many as 70 passengers. A driver is included separately, so you do not need to deduct a seat for them. Count every pupil, teacher, organiser, carer and accompanying adult who will travel, then tell us if the number changes for the return.
The 70-seater is one of our most commonly hired coach sizes. It suits large school and university groups, event parties, supporters, delegates and community organisations that want to travel to an agreed itinerary. If the trip has several starting points, different return times or a great deal of equipment, another arrangement may work better. We will quote around the journey you actually need.

The Real Question: One Coach or More Than One Vehicle?
A single 70-seat coach can make sense when nearly everyone starts together, follows the same timetable and finishes at the same destination. There is one vehicle to identify, one lead passenger to brief and one departure to manage.
It is not automatically the right answer for every group of this size. Two vehicles may be more practical when passengers are based far apart, part of the group needs to leave earlier, the final venue has restricted coach access, or the bags and equipment need a different plan. Splitting the group can also be useful when separate teams or departments have their own schedules.
Before choosing, answer four questions:
- Will every passenger use the same outward and return journey?
- Can one suitable pickup point serve most of the group?
- Can a high-capacity coach use the entrances and set-down areas on the route?
- What will travel besides people, including suitcases, instruments, wheelchairs or sports kit?
If those answers point towards one vehicle, ask us to check a 70-seater. If they do not, we can quote a suitable combination from our full fleet.
Work Out Who Is Travelling Both Ways
The first headcount is rarely the whole story. A conference party may all travel out in the morning, while some delegates make their own way home. A sports group can gain or lose passengers between fixtures. At a wedding, suppliers and family members may need different return times.

Send us the number travelling on each part of the itinerary, not just the highest total. Include group leaders and support staff, and allow for any people whose attendance is still uncertain. We can then look at the complete movement instead of assuming that one passenger list applies all day.
It also helps to name one main contact and, for a large party, a few subgroup leads. They can check their own section of the passenger list and pass clear information to the main organiser. That small bit of preparation is useful when 70 people are waiting to board.
Four Ways a 70-Seater Journey Can Run
One Departure and One Arrival Deadline
This is the simplest pattern. Everyone boards at one agreed point and needs to be at a school venue, university, conference or ceremony by a set time. For school trip transport and corporate group travel, work backwards from the time the group must be inside the venue. Include boarding, suitable comfort stops and the walk from the coach set-down point.
Out Together, Back in Smaller Groups
The full group may share the outward coach, but the return can be less straightforward. Supporters might leave after different matches, festival guests may have separate departure windows, and wedding guests do not always finish together. Tell us those differences when you enquire about sports travel, festival transport or wedding transport. A late change to the route or waiting time can affect the arrangements and price.
Several Stops in One Organised Movement
A 70-seater can follow an itinerary with more than one stop, provided the route, timing and access are agreed. This can suit campus movements, conference programmes, community events and private UK tours. List every stop in order, say what the group will do there and tell us whether the coach needs to wait or return later.
Repeated or Multi-Day Travel
Some groups need transport for more than one day or on a repeating schedule. Send the itinerary for each date rather than describing the job as a general return. Passenger numbers, loading points, driver hours, parking and overnight arrangements can differ from one day to the next, so the quote needs the full schedule.
Other Coach Hire Options
Besides 70 seater coaches, we've got other vehicles in our fleet.

Allow Proper Time for Seventy People to Board
Boarding a coach is not the same as meeting a taxi. One missing passenger can hold up the full group, and loose bags at the door can slow loading. Give everyone one exact meeting point and a time that is earlier than the planned departure.
For a smoother start:
- Share the pickup address, postcode and a pin or landmark before travel.
- Keep the coach loading area clear while the organiser checks the group.
- Ask subgroup leads to report missing passengers to one main contact.
- Load large cases and equipment in the agreed area before people settle into their seats.
- Keep the driver's access, aisle and exits free from loose items.
If the group is leaving a busy school, stadium, hotel or event site, tell us how coaches are normally admitted. A gate name or coach-bay number is much more useful than the venue's general address.
Check That a High-Capacity Coach Can Reach the Stop
A postcode may lead to the building but not to a place where a large coach can safely enter, turn or wait. Narrow approaches, low structures, weight limits, controlled streets, height barriers and small private car parks can all affect the usable pickup point.
Give us the exact entrance for each stop and any venue instructions you already have. For unfamiliar or restricted sites, the agreed set-down point may be a short walk from the door. The route and stopping plan must also account for permits, tolls, parking rules and clean-air or traffic restrictions where applicable.
Do not assume the coach will remain at the venue all day. If it needs to wait, park nearby or return at a particular time, put that in the enquiry so it can be allowed for from the start.
Count Bags as Carefully as Seats
Seventy passengers can produce seventy cabin bags, seventy large cases or a mixture of cases and specialist equipment. Those are very different loads. A seat count on its own cannot confirm whether everything will fit because storage layouts vary between coaches.
Tell us how many large suitcases and smaller bags the group will bring. List awkward items separately, such as musical instruments, wheelchairs, pushchairs, presentation equipment, team kit or boxed event materials. If every seat will be occupied, be especially clear about bulky items. They must use the approved storage areas and cannot block the aisle or exits.
For a school, band or sports booking, a simple equipment list is worth sending with the passenger total. We can then check the proposed vehicle arrangement against people and belongings, rather than finding a mismatch on the travel day.
Airport Transfers for a Group of This Size
We arrange airport transfers across the UK. Heathrow Airport transfers, Manchester Airport transfers and Belfast International Airport transfers are three examples. You can enquire about other UK airports as well.
For a departure, we collect from the agreed accessible point and take the group to the airport's permitted coach set-down area for the booked terminal. For an arrival, we provide meeting instructions for the agreed coach pickup location and take the party to its hotel, venue, home address or next stop.
Send the flight number, terminal, landing or departure time, lead passenger's mobile number and a realistic bag count. If you need airport parking, planned waiting time or a particular meet-and-greet arrangement, ask for it in advance so we can confirm what is possible and include any relevant charge. The dedicated airport page explains the process in more detail.
Air Conditioning Comes as Standard
Every minibus and coach we provide has air conditioning. You do not need to add it as a special request.
Other facilities differ by vehicle. If the journey needs an on-board toilet, charging points, reclining seats, an entertainment system, a particular accessibility arrangement or a certain luggage configuration, tell us before accepting the quote. We will check the requirement and confirm it where available.
We quote a suitable 70-passenger coach, not a guaranteed make, model, body style or seating layout. Share what the group needs the vehicle to do instead of choosing it by badge alone.
FAQs
Yes, most of our school tour buses are equipped with restrooms for your convenience on extended journeys. But always ask our team before booking a coach.

Absolutely, we can arrange for special accommodations to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, including those with special needs.
Choose Enough Seats, Not Simply the Largest Number
Our coach hire range runs from 29 to 77 seats. The best size leaves room for everyone on the confirmed passenger list and works with the luggage, route and timetable.
- A 30-seater coach suits a much smaller party that can share one schedule.
- A 50-seater coach can suit an organised group that does not need the extra 20 passenger places.
- A 70-seater is useful for up to 70 passengers and is one of the sizes customers hire most often.
- A 72- or 77-seater may suit a confirmed group above 70, subject to availability and the rest of the journey requirements.
- More than one vehicle may make better sense when the party exceeds 77 people or needs separate routes and return times.
Do not book spare seats by guesswork, but do not leave named organisers or accompanying adults out of the count either. Send the latest numbers and tell us which places are still provisional.
What Shapes a 70-Seater Coach Hire Quote?
There is no useful flat price for every 70-seater journey. A short transfer at a restricted city venue can involve different costs from a long motorway trip with straightforward coach parking.
Your quote is based on details such as:
- The travel date and the time the coach is required.
- Every collection, stop and destination.
- Outward and return passenger numbers.
- Journey distance, duration and driver scheduling.
- Parking, tolls, permits, ferries and applicable road charges.
- Luggage, equipment and confirmed vehicle requirements.
- Whether the coach waits, leaves and returns, or works over several days.
Use our coach hire pricing guide to understand the main variables, then request a personalised figure. If the itinerary changes after quotation or confirmation, ask us to revise it before travel. Extra stops, time or route deviations may change the cost.
70-Seater Coach Hire Across the UK
We quote for local pickups, long-distance journeys and intercity group travel throughout the UK. Groups can enquire from places such as Newcastle upon Tyne, Cardiff and Belfast, as well as the other towns and cities on our areas we cover page.
These places are examples, not a boundary. Send both postcodes, all intermediate stops and the times attached to them. For cross-border, ferry or multi-day work, include the complete itinerary so it can be assessed as one journey.
