Like every year, the Latitude Festival returns this year, starting from July 23rd to July 26th at Henham Park near Southwold. This year, the festival marks its 20th anniversary, making it more special. Henham is going to be filled with pink sheep, lakeside swims, and four days of concerts, featuring top acts like David Byrne, Teddy Swims, and Lewis Capaldi. The real question is what means of transport are you taking to get there? Here is all the information you need.

Public Transport

While public transport may sometimes be cheaper, it comes with plenty of constraints like compromising on your comfort and safety, vehicle shortages or overcrowded platforms. These factors can be major contributing factors to a stressful trip or to being unable to reach your destination at all. Let’s have a look.

Travelling Via Train

1. Overcrowding

Trains to the nearest station, Halesworth, get extremely packed on Mondays and Thursdays, making travel difficult and unsafe. Plus, trying to fit even a small group carrying camping equipment, sleeping bags, and trolleys into an already full train is the real task and almost impossible.

2. Lack Of Direct Routes

If you are heading from London to the Latitude Festival, you have no choice but to change trains at Ipswich. Carrying heavy luggage over multiple platforms not only causes inconvenience but also adds to travelling time, and there is a good chance you will arrive late at the festival.

3. Luggage Limitations

If you are a bigger group with heavy equipment and luggage, travelling on a train is a big no, as there are certain luggage restrictions you need to follow if you wish to travel through this means of transport.

Travelling Through A Taxi

  • Severe Taxi Shortages: As Henham Park is isolated, the taxi transport system is quite small and will not be able to deal with thousands of people coming to the festival, especially if your travel is not properly planned.
  • Price Spike: Because of high demand around the festival, the local taxi fares get very high, making it an expensive option. It can quickly consume all your budget for the weekend.
  • Late-Night Return Issues: Late at night, taxis are hardly available, and even if you succeed in getting one, you will have to bear very expensive night-rate surcharges.

Hire A Minibus Tailored To Your Travel Needs

By travelling in a private minibus, you can forget about all the travel stressors, and the journey will be as enjoyable as the destination. You can travel from small to large groups at affordable prices in a unified vehicle where everyone stays together and relaxed.

Vehicle Recommendation According To Group Size

  • 8 Seater MinibusThe vehicle is best for intimate families and private groups of friends. Its compact design makes it ideal for manoeuvrability and quick drop-offs. You can also hire a 9-seater minibus if you have extra luggage or your group size increases.
  • 16 Seater MinibusThis minibus is suitable for medium-sized groups, like extended families or corporate teams heading to the festival. An 18-seater minibus is also a suitable choice if you have extra luggage or someone decides to join you at the last minute.
  • 20 Seater MinibusThis vehicle is ideal for large groups, with extra space for luggage and seating according to the group members.
  • 25 Seater MinibusIf you have an even larger group, then this vehicle can easily accommodate all your group members and baggage in a dedicated boot space.

Why Hire A Minibus With A Driver?

1. Cost-Effective & Reliable

Hiring a minibus with a driver is far more economical than hiring separate expensive rides or travelling through unreliable local transport.

2. Safe Late-Night Returns Available

Your pre-booked minibus will be at your disposal according to your schedule. This way, you are assured of a secure ride back home even at midnight when the trains and taxis are no longer running.

4. Ample Boot Space

Minibuses come with dedicated storage designed to accommodate all your luggage and camping equipment, without compromising on your own space.

5. No Driving Stress

Hiring a minibus with a driver means no stress of driving, as that will be taken care of by a vetted driver who will handle the navigation and traffic all along with expertise.

6. Modern Amenities

Minibuses feature the latest amenities such as reclining seats with leg space, climate control and, of course, boot space. Additional features can also be provided if available, such as wheelchair accessible vehicles or onboard restrooms.

Note: It is advisable to communicate with your booking team if you need added amenities, so they can let you know if those amenities are available.

City-Specific Departures

1. Norwich

Approx. Travel Dist.: 30 miles

Est. Travel Time: 45 mins - 1 hour

Travelling by a minibus skips local transport delays that are hard to predict and keeps all of your group with luggage and camping equipment together for a stress-free arrival.

2. Ipswich

Approx. Travel Dist.: 35 miles

Est. Travel Time: 45 mins - 1 hour

You can have a direct transfer without having to deal with the busy station platforms, and you can get a drop-off right at the main entrance on time.

3. Cambridge

Approx. Travel: 70 miles

Est. Travel Time: 1.5 - 2 hours

Rather than dealing with unfamiliar rural traffic jams or stressing over parking spots, your group may simply relax and enjoy a scenic ride through the countryside while a native driver takes the wheel for you.

4. London

Approx. Travel Distance: 110 miles

Est. Travel Time: 2.5 - 3 hours

Departing from the capital by local transport will have you struggling to bring your bags through a messy line transfer at Ipswich. Hiring a minibus instead completely bypasses that whole headache and offers a smooth, uninterrupted journey from your doorstep.

5. Birmingham

Approx. Distance: 160 miles

Est. Travel Time: 3.5 - 4 hours

Travelling via multiple cars or trains on a long journey can be quite tiring. A dedicated minibus gets you rid of the unpredictable and inflexible local transport schedules, allowing everybody to relax, chat, and enjoy the journey, while an expert driver will take care of navigating the routes.

The whole experience of travelling to the festival with your group should not be a test of your patience. Public transport and taxi rides have their hidden costs, like being subjected to high surge prices or having to change trains or buses multiple times. A pre-booked minibus, on the other hand, can get rid of all these inconveniences. Keeping your group together, making sure your luggage is safe, and arranging for a reliable ride home late at night are the ways to guarantee a smooth journey. Invite your mates and book your vehicle well in advance, and you are good to go.
